I purchased this product as a Christmas gift for my husband, who suffers from severe and often quite painful lymphedema in his legs due to congestive heart failure. The first time he used it, it both substantially reduced swelling and was helpful in reducing the pain caused by the swelling. Although I don't have edema, I did try using the device on myself a few times before retiring for the night, when I had been on my feet all day and my legs felt "tired".
